Home movie film (8mm or Super-8) usually comes in 50 foot reels. Each reel will run for approximately 3 1/2 minutes! Many people have 'edited' their film, and put it on larger reels. Whatever the situation, the conversion to DVD is a two stage process.
1) Digitize the film, and 2) Transfer the digital files, plus appropriate music, to the finished DVD!
Digitizing your film costs only 12 cents per foot. Thus one of the small 50 foot reels will cost only $6 to digitize. (There is an additional cost of $1 per reel to facilitate rewinding and storing.)
The total converted footage is then transferred to a DVD complete with a light music soundtrack designed to enhance your viewing experience!
For your information we can get up to 34 small reels on one 2 hour DVD! The cost of transfer to DVD is $20 (up to 1 hour), and $29 (up to 2 hours).
As most 8mm cine film is silent, we have carefully designed an appropriate light background musical track which will enhance the playback. If you supply sound 8mm film, then we will of course use your sountrack.
